Ben Neeser (Central Region)
Ben has worked as a tutor off and on over the course of his career in a variety of settings, working with individuals from across a broad spectrum of backgrounds. Ben has experience working with non-native English speakers, at-risk communities, professionals, academics, people from diverse cultural and academic backgrounds, and more.

 

Originally trained as a peer writing tutor while an undergraduate, Ben has over five years experience working in university tutoring centers (University of Wisconsin – River Falls, University of Minnesota). Ben has also operated a technology-driven writing center and provided one-on-one tutoring in language arts and social studies to junior high - university level students. For the past ten years, Ben has worked in higher education (University of Minnesota and the University of Colorado Boulder) with primary experience in content creation, writing, editing, and message development.

Ozy Aloziem (Central Region)

Ozy has worked as a tutor for the last 8 years serving a wide demographic of students. She has experience working with refugee and immigrant populations, students from low SES and underrepresented backgrounds, at-risk communities, students with learning disabilities, college students and professionals. Ozy’s tutoring background includes Math (elementary-Algebra 2), Science (elementary-Chemistry 1), Social Studies, Creative Writing, Language Arts, and Cultural Competency training.  With degrees in Psychology and Anthropology from Creighton University, Ozy is passionate about social justice theory and the importance of education. Her research has taken her to countries like the Dominican Republic, Uganda and Rwanda where she has been able to observe first-hand the different ways education and learning are approached cross-culturally. In 2015 she became a Denver Math Fellow, a program intended to close the opportunity gap by providing small group math instruction for students in order to accelerate their academic growth in preparation for college and future careers. Her long-term goal is to obtain a PhD in social work to ultimately become a professor of multicultural studies and issues of inequality. 

Hannah Whalen (Central Region)

Hannah is a trained educator, with over 15 years of teaching and tutoring experience. She was born and raised in Colorado and achieved her B.A. degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. With a heart to work with at-risk youth, she has spent her career working with them in a variety of settings. Hannah strives to provide dynamic instruction that will accommodate a pupil’s needs and inspire students to believe in themselves.  In addition to teaching and tutoring, she is a part-time writer.

Dorothy Fitzgerald (Central Region)

Dorothy graduated from college with a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering and has been involved in educating children on a volunteer basis in past years. She wants to use her skills, specifically math, to help educate children within the community and is looking forward to continuing to help kids on their journeys to success. Dorothy is excited to be part of the Success4Life team.

Amy Twardowski - (Central Region)

 

Amy is a trained educator with 14 years of experience in the education field. She has served in a variety of roles including elementary teacher, special education teacher, assistant principal, and now interventionist.  She was born and raised in Chicago and achieved her M.Ed. degree in Reading and Learning Disabilities. Amy has committed her career to urban education supporting at-risk students in a variety of charter and public schools in Chicago and now Denver.  Amy feels passionately about literacy and the power of reading to invoke positive change in the world.  She hopes to help students cultivate a growth mindset that will help them achieve their goals.

Gabriella Ruelas  - (Central Region)

Gabriella has over 30 years in the educational field and believes education is the foundation of a successful life. She has her Bachelor of Science from Regis University and has been working towards her Master of Education at Regis.  She has taught all levels from preschooler to high school here in Colorado and California. She also has extensive experience working with adjudicated youth. Gabriella is excited to be part of the Success4Life team!

Amy Flickinger (Southern Region)

Amy has 7 years of professional education experience in the Chicagoland area. Her experience consists of teaching middle school Language Arts, ESL Adult Education courses at the local community college, and homebound tutoring. Amy has also earned her B.A. in Elementary Education with an endorsement in ESL, as well as her Master's in Education of Literacy. She also has a background in serving in her church and traveling to other countries to build schools and wells so that all students worldwide have access to education and clean drinking water. Amy's professional and personal experiences have allowed her to teach and structure lessons to cater to each individual student's learning style. She truly has a heart for others and will go above and beyond to reach each student. Amy feels that she can make a difference on the Success4Life team.

Iman K. Mohamed (Central Region)

Iman received her B.A. in Ethnic Studies from CU Denver. Her educational experiences including tutoring chemistry at the collegiate level, high school students through the AVID program, and middle school/high school students in the African community in Denver. As an African immigrant, Iman understands the adversity and obstacles that many in the African or immigrant community undergo and live. She uses that knowledge to give back and better the community through service and education. She enjoys connecting under-resourced communities with the tools they need to improve their

 quality of life and achieve their goals. Success4Life falls directly in line with her values and aspirations to contribute to a positive effort. That being said, she is beyond excited to join the Success4Life team and looks forward to helping youth work towards a successful future. 

Kathryn McCauley (Central Region)

Kathryn McCauley recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Communications from Texas Tech University. She is currently working on obtaining a master’s degree in International & Intercultural Communication from the University of Denver. In her spare time, she loves reading, learning new languages, and trying to keep her houseplants alive. While receiving her bachelor’s degree, Kathryn specialized in tutoring writing and tutoring students with learning disabilities. She is excited to be a part of the Success4Life team where she can combine her love of learning with her heart for people.

Gina Bollito (Central Region)

Gina Bollito has a B.A. in Communication Sciences & Disorders and Spanish from Saint Xavier University. Over the past several years Gina has worked as an academic tutor for children and adults from a variety of ability levels and backgrounds. Her values of respect, integrity, and grit are at the forefront of each tutoring session. She believes in cultivating a growth mindset while helping students achieve their goals. Gina is excited to bring her optimism and energy from Chicago to the people of Denver and Success4Life.

Maranda Donaldson (Central Region)

 

Maranda earned a Master of Science in Bioinformatics from Northeastern University in 2016. She worked in Medical Research as a Bioinformatician before deciding to follow her true passion for teaching. She has over seven years of professional tutoring and group leadership experience and looks forward to using her background in math and science to help others. Maranda is excited to be part of Success4Life's team! 

Audra Parker (Southern Region)

Audra is an experienced special education teacher in Colorado Springs. Over the last 10 years, she helped students reach their educational goals through small group and 1:1 instruction, addressing individual academic needs in dynamic environments. In addition to teaching, Audra is involved in disability advocacy, including serving as President of the non-profit Autism & Asperger Connections. Audra earned a B.S. in History (Northern Arizona University) and an M.A. in Special Education (University of Colorado). Audra is drawn to helping others achieve their goals and is looking forward to working as a Success4Life tutor.

Coleen Parker (Southern Region)

Coleen has spent the last several years in a variety of positions, including teaching writing for a newswire, working in a university disability services office, and working in different levels of government. Her experience brought her to wanting to help lift others up. Growing up with a teacher, she has access to a variety of teaching methods and a passion for education. Coleen has a Bachelor of Science in International Relations. She also speaks Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, and Arabic with varying degrees of fluency.

Terrance Bishop (Northeast Region)

Terrance is a Master's Student in Biomedical Engineering at Colorado State University. He has a bachelors of science in Biomedical Engineering and Chemical Engineering. In his free time, Terrance likes to be outdoors and play guitar.  He has a lot of experience tutoring middle schoolers in Math and English. Worked as a teaching assistant for all Biomedical Engineering senior design projects at CSU.  He was also involved in an organization called The Dream Project which was focused on providing mentorship to help students apply to college. Terrance is excited to be working with Success4Life.

Irena Subotic

Irena Subotic (Central/Northeast Region)

I recently graduated with a master’s degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. I attended the University of Colorado at Denver where I obtained my bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology. I have been working with at-risk youth in some capacity for almost ten years. I have experience as a reading and writing tutor with elementary aged youth. I find great value in helping at-risk youth further their education, alongside engaging youth and creating a comfortable and safe environment for them to learn in. 

Amanda Dworski (Western Slope)

Amanda is a longtime public health educator from California who has lived in Colorado since 1999. She received a bachelor's degree in Rhetoric from UC Berkeley and graduate education in nursing from Yale University. She has worked as a newspaper copy editor, taught for Planned Parenthood in Los Angeles County schools and served as a community health RN with the Colorado Nurse-Family Partnership. Integrating her background in the liberal arts with her studies in the life sciences, Amanda creates a lively learning environment where critical thinking can flourish. She especially enjoys tutoring adolescents, engaging their youthful enthusiasm and imagination to make studying personally meaningful and fun. Amanda enjoys volunteering as a Girls on the Run coach and a literacy tutor for adult and ESL students. She is excited to bring her energy to the Success4Life team on the Western Slope.

Laura Ritz (Western Slope)

Laura is an enthusiastic educator with a passion for one-on-one instruction.  After completing a B.S. Business Administration (University of Colorado) and maintaining a successful career in the non-profit sector, Laura moved into full-time teaching, earning a Teaching Certificate (Prescott College) and an M.Ed. Education (Northern Arizona University).  She has spent the last eleven years working with a diverse group of students in four western states and has taught students of all age levels and abilities.   These varied experiences have given Laura a deep appreciation for the many gifts and strengths that her students bring to the table.   Aside from tutoring with Success4Life, Laura operates her own professional editing and writing company.  In her spare time, she and her family can be found rafting, hiking, camping, mountain biking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, or snowboarding in the beautiful San Juan Mountains of Southwest Colorado.

Trusan Comstock - ServSafe (Central & Southern Region)

Trusan has been involved the culinary world for over 30 years as a professional chef, instructor, and caterer. For the past three years Trusan has been a Culinary and ServSafe Instructor in a Juvenile Correction Facility As a ServSafe® Certified instructor, Chef Trusan expertly guides students through ServSafe courses. Trusan is looking forward in his role with Success4Life and to continue to help youth become ServSafe Certified.

Molly Combs (Private Front Range)

Molly Combs has her B.S. in Elementary Education.  She has been involved in the teaching and tutoring of students for over 18 years. She has work with children of all ages and abilities  and has  a passion for helping children learn and be successful. She resides in Evergreen, CO  and she is eager to help  students in our community.  She is  very excited to be a part of the Success4Life team and help students find their path to success.

Heather Walker (Grand County) 

Heather is an educator with over 12 years of experience. She received a B.S. in History Education and M.Ed. in Secondary Education from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona. Heather began her career working with youth in the juvenile justice system as the Educational Coordinator of a non-profit group home. She has taught high school and middle school social studies in both urban and rural settings. During this time she served as Department Chair and piloted an advanced coursework program thorough the local community college. She served as an active member of the board for the Arizona Council of History Education and presented at national social studies conferences throughout the nation. For the past three years, Heather has been teaching online and working part-time for a local classical Christian school. She lives in the beautiful Rocky Mountains with her husband and two children. One of her greatest passions in life is helping students reach success and gain hope for their future. 

Sarah Anani - (Central Region)

Sarah graduated with honors from Ramapo College of NJ with her B.S. in Business Administration - Finance, and a minor in Psychology. Over the past 8 years she has utilized her analytical mind to thrive in finance, budget analysis, and accounting positions within the Federal Government and the Private-Sector. She also has 3 years of experience tutoring college-level courses in mathematics, economics, finance, and accounting. Sarah’s main objective at Success4Life is for students to gain a lifelong love of learning.

Merielle Redwine -  (Central  Region)

Merielle Redwine has a bachelor's in mathematics as well as a range of teaching experience involving people of all ages, levels, and backgrounds. She taught English to Chinese children, tutored incoming college students to help prepare them for placent exams, taught kids church, and worked with special needs adults as a life skills support staff. In every situation, her teaching philosophy remains to help students gain confidence in their abilities. Throughout college, she volunteered in research labs that focused on a variety of areas such as psychology, cardiology, computer programming, and genetics.

William Woodall -  (Lamar)

William is an experienced educator who has taught science, history, and life skills for several years in Southeast Colorado.  After completing his Bachelor’s degree in Education from Henderson State University in Arkansas, William taught English in Russia for a time and then worked in the private sector as a real estate developer for several years before moving to Colorado in 2015.  Since that time, he has worked with a diverse group of students from many different backgrounds and ability levels, and has truly come to appreciate how much every student has to offer.  Aside from his work as a teacher, William is also a published author and a licensed foster parent.  Some of his favorite activities include fishing, writing, and spending time with his children in the great outdoors.

Sheila Smyth - (Central Region)

 

Sheila’s love of tutoring includes teaching students diverse in age, background, culture, and special needs. She has worked as an educator in Eastern Tibet, China, California, Washington, D.C., New Jersey, Colorado, Florida, and has just recently returned to the state she calls home- Colorado. She has tutored a wide range of subjects including Reading Comprehension, ESL, Language Arts, Handwriting, Cognition Skills, standardized test-prep. (ACT, SAT, GED, state exams), and developed the curricula for the Language Arts component of homeschooled students (grades 4-9). Her work with Kosovar families during Operation Refuge in NJ, led her to work with Asian refugees in D.C. Working with disenfranchised youth led her to the completion of a MAED/Special Needs from the University of Phoenix, and an AAC certificate from the ADD Coach Academy. Sheila believes that an individualized approach to tutoring includes empowering students to use their uniqueness as strengths. Success4Life and Sheila’s values are aligned: she’s thrilled to be a part of such a distinguished team of professionals.
